With over two decades of experience in the automotive performance industry, Jim brings a rare combination of technical expertise, hands-on craftsmanship, and business-minded problem solving to every project he takes on.
My Story
His career began in the European automotive world, where he spent nearly a decade specializing in the maintenance, diagnosis, and performance modification of some of the most respected vehicles in the industry. Working in both dealership environments and independent performance shops, Jim developed a deep understanding of precision engineering, factory-level service, and the demands of high-performance applications.
Beyond routine maintenance and repairs, Jim’s passion for motorsports led him into the world of performance vehicle development and race preparation. He gained hands-on experience building and modifying competition-focused vehicles, including iconic platforms such as the BMW E30 M3, Audi performance models, and Porsche 996 GT3s. These experiences helped shape his approach to automotive work: meticulous attention to detail, quality craftsmanship, and a commitment to doing things the right way.
After his time in the European automotive space, Jim transitioned into the performance Subaru community, where he spent another decade refining his skills as a builder and fabricator. During this time, he specialized in high-horsepower builds, including complete engine assemblies, custom fabrication, performance upgrades, and the integration of aftermarket components. His experience building reliable 500+ horsepower platforms gave him a unique understanding of balancing performance goals with long-term reliability.
Today, Jim continues to apply his technical background in new ways. He manages and maintains a commercial fleet of Ford F-450 vehicles for a marine transportation operation, overseeing the reliability and upkeep of multiple work vehicles that are critical to daily operations. In addition, he serves as a key part of Buckle Up Off-Road, working alongside his wife to grow and operate the business while bringing his extensive automotive knowledge and customer-focused approach to the company.
Whether working on a performance vehicle, solving a complex mechanical challenge, managing a fleet, or helping a customer bring their vision to life, Jim approaches every opportunity with the same values that have guided his career: honesty, attention to detail, technical excellence, and a commitment to delivering results.
